Far Away Friends opened Global Leaders Primary School (GLP) in the Amolatar region of Uganda in 2016. Now that Global Leaders Primary School is fully equipped with robust solar power throughout their entire campus, they are partnering with Team4Tech to work towards bridging the digital divide for students in rural Amolatar District by bringing technology into their classrooms and providing technology training(s) to teachers within their Sister School Network. Partnership with Team4Tech supports Far Away Friends’ investment in developing their ****first computer lab and becoming the first school in their district offering computer literacy education to students at the primary school level – a game changer for kids who have never touched a computer in their lives. They are exploring the possibility of installing an internet tower on their campus and bringing internet connectivity to their school community to enhance the quality and diversity of learning within their classrooms. On an operational level, Far Away Friends is working towards developing an M&E tool for tracking student growth and impact.
