Background:

<aside> 📌 Amidst apartheid in 1987, John Gilmour initiated a program inviting black students to Pinelands High School, leading to the formation of the Langa Education Assistance Program (LEAP) in 1990. John's departure from Abbot’s led to the establishment of the first LEAP Science and Maths School in January 2004 with limited resources in Cape Town. Subsequent years saw the opening of additional LEAP schools, totaling six, which now constitute an innovative nonprofit organization providing quality education to underserved youth in South African Townships.

🤝 Partnership Objectives:

LEAP partners with Team4Tech to build and implement an IT strategy and prioritize the strategy’s replication and scaling. LEAP’s goals for the partnership include:

• ensuring all students have a digital portfolio with self-created content
• achieving 100% pass rates in Maths and Science
• having students use Gmail, Google Docs, and Calendar daily and become accustomed to how productivity software will be used in the workplace
• improving ICT infrastructure and security at all schools

Grant Budget Analysis:
