Background:
<aside>
📌 Amidst apartheid in 1987, John Gilmour initiated a program inviting black students to Pinelands High School, leading to the formation of the Langa Education Assistance Program (LEAP) in 1990. John's departure from Abbot’s led to the establishment of the first LEAP Science and Maths School in January 2004 with limited resources in Cape Town. Subsequent years saw the opening of additional LEAP schools, totaling six, which now constitute an innovative nonprofit organization providing quality education to underserved youth in South African Townships.
